Light Shade Wildflower Only Seed Mix

We've put together the kind of mix you might have expected to see along a hedge in a country lane. It's a more robust and taller mix than the meadow mixes we sell, but super helpful for shadier spots on a range of soils and in a garden setting. It does need some sun, however.

This is the wildflower element of our hedgerow and light shade mix, which also includes grasses.

Expect to receive your light shade wildflower seed mix within five working days of placing an order.

Seeding

You'll find full instructions on the back of the packet, but here's a quick summary...

1. Weed seedbed.

2. Sow onto bare earth in spring or late autumn, when the soil is moist and the earth is warm.

3. Hand broadcast at 2g / square metre. This is a tiny amount, so add sand or similar if you're nervous you will sow too quickly.

4. Leave the seed on the surface and lightly roll or tread to ensure good contact with the soil.

5. That's it.

If you're going to sow onto existing grass, please read this blog first! You will only need up to 1g / square metre.
