Genuine British Wildflower Seed

You can find a lot of pretty terrible "wildflower" seed for sale. It might include species which might not naturally occur in Britain, or agricultural cultivars of wildflowers. Others are imported from as far away as China.

If you want wildflower seed you need species occurring here naturally, ideally harvested from (originally) wild plant populations. All the wildflower seed we sell has UK origin and provenance.

Our community of suppliers includes most of the best wildflower seed producers in the UK. Many harvest seed in a completely sustainable way from beautiful and often ancient British donor meadow sites.

Increasingly, the standard 20:80 wildflowers to grasses mixes you can find elsewhere don't cut it. They're a false economy on anything but the most skeletal soils.

Our harvested mixes have very high floral content, and a high diversity of perennial native wildflower and meadow grass species. They offer exceptional value for money. These meadow seed mixes are ideal for Biodiversity Net Gain projects; ask us!

We do also sell some seed mixes which are made up of pre-determined %s of species, for different soil types or situations. These typically include 30% wildflowers. We randomly test these for content and good germination. The wildflowers and grasses in these mixes are UK native species. The wildflower seed is originally from wild populations here and the grass seed is certified.

We've been making wildflower meadows since 2003 and selling seed from 2008. Our thousands of happy customers include Natural England, the National Trust, and many Wildlife Trusts. We're licenced by DEFRA.

When I initially wanted to order these seeds they were not available but I received an email as soon as they were harvested and available. Shortly after they were delivered I was informed that the tests that are undertaken showed the quality of the seeds to be less than what is expected so other seeds with results that show an increased chance of germination were offered and delivered to me within a few days.
I was extremely pleased with the quality assurance process, honesty, and prompt responses from the customer service team...well done!

How lovely are these, did very little ground prep, just a good rake, sowed these on valentines day, slow to start, but did water through the dry spell, 4 months later, boom! Rewarded with this lovely display, the bees are loving it, plenty of hover flies, no butterflies yet, but not disappointed.

Very impressed with how quick these seeds came to us. Good thing too as we wanted to sow prior to the springtime window closing. The British Wildflower Seeds we have ordered in the past and on this occasion are great quality, also beautifully and sustainably packaged. Our front law meadow that appears to mostly be in shade throughout the day has taken a while to fully develop, but hopefully with this seed we’ll get a bit more success. Advice given via e-mail was very helpful and detailed, which we were very grateful for.

The seeds arrived promptly by royal mail and were well packaged ( no plastic or unnecessary frills appreciated).
There was an interesting mix of seeds which was not dominated by grass. We showed them yesterday in a relatively small area of the grounds after it had rained, we look forward to seeing what comes up.
