Highclere Meadow Seed Mix
This is a pretty cool mix! One of our harvesters has harvested it from the world famous (etc) gardens at Highclere, aka Downton Abbey, in Berkshire. The castle stands on a chalk escarpment, so this mix is best for well drained calcareous sites.
Although the Earl of Carnarvon only established the meadow relatively recently, it's pretty impressive, and good enough to find its way into Hugo Rittson Thomas's gorgeous celebration of Coronation meadows. Lovely grasses and many key species for chalk downland.
The harvester hasn't got around to giving us a full % breakdown of the mix, but we'e confident it's at least 50% wildflowers, and very likely more.
There are full instructions on the back of the packet. You can expect to receive your seed within five working days.
