Collection: Acidic Soils

There's a range of meadow types found on acidic soils. They can be more heathland at one end of the spectrum (categorised as U4, a, b, or c) and marshy grassland at the other (M23a, M24b/c or M25b). Although many of the wildflowers people associate with meadows prefer calcareous or neutral soils, there are plenty of really interesting species wanting acid soils. Acid grasslands (so with a soil pH of under around 5.5) consequently have their own look and are relatively rare too - lucky you if you can make one.
